Escape the city and discover the peaceful beauty of Lapland’s winter forests on this guided snowshoeing adventure. This experience takes you beyond the usual walking paths and into deep snow-covered terrain that can only truly be explored with snowshoes. Surrounded by quiet Arctic nature, you’ll experience a side of Finnish Lapland that feels calm, remote, and untouched by the rush of everyday life.
After a short drive from Rovaniemi, your guide leads you into the snowy forest where towering trees, soft snow, and frozen scenery create a magical winter atmosphere. Snowshoes make it easy to walk across deep snow, allowing you to move through areas inaccessible on foot during winter.
Along the way, your guide shares stories and information about the local environment, forests, and Arctic flora. You may even spot traces of wildlife or, with some luck, see animals moving through the forest, although wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed. What truly makes this experience special is the silence. Away from roads and crowds, the only sounds are your footsteps in the snow and the quiet whispers of the forest around you.

Pickups & Winter Clothing
Your adventure begins with pickups from selected accommodations or meeting at the Rovaniemi Insider office. Your guide welcomes the group and helps everyone gear up with warm winter clothing, snowshoes, and walking poles suited for the conditions.
Scenic Drive Into the Forest
After getting ready, we leave the city behind and take a short drive into the surrounding Lapland nature. As the scenery changes from urban surroundings to snow-covered forests, your guide introduces the area and the adventure ahead.
Snowshoeing In the deep snow
The tour begins with an easy and enjoyable snowshoe walk through peaceful winter forests. Leaving the usual paths behind, we venture into deeper snow where snowshoes allow us to move comfortably through untouched terrain.
Arctic Nature & Silent Forests
During the walk, your guide shares insights about the local flora, wildlife, and Arctic environment. Keep an eye out for animal tracks in the snow and enjoy the unique silence of the forest, where the only sounds come from nature and your own footsteps.
Scenic Viewpoint Stop
The route leads to a scenic viewpoint surrounded by snowy landscapes and forest views. Here there is time to pause, take photos, and fully appreciate the calm atmosphere of Lapland’s winter wilderness.
Return to Rovaniemi
After the walk, we make our way back to the vehicle and begin the return journey to Rovaniemi. Once back in the city, guests are dropped off at their accommodation or the office, ending a peaceful and memorable Arctic nature experience.
