Arctic Husky Safari – 5 km

Your experience starts at our central office at Korkalonkatu 36 in Rovaniemi or via pickup from your hotel. Before departing, you are fitted with complete winter clothing including warm overalls, thermal boots, and mittens, ensuring you are fully dressed for the cold before heading out.

Once everyone is dressed and ready, step into our comfortable transport for the scenic drive out of Rovaniemi to our co-owned husky kennel in Jokela.

Upon arrival, our professional mushers introduce you to your dog team and give a clear safety briefing. You will learn the basic controls, how to use the footbrake, and how to steer the sled. It is very straightforward and easy to pick up, even for first-timers.

Take the reins and drive your own team of huskies along a 5 km trail through snow-laden forests. Sleds are shared between two adults, with one driving while the other relaxes as a passenger, and children riding safely in the basket. You will have an opportunity to swap drivers mid-way.

Gather around an open fire inside a traditional wooden kota to warm up with hot berry juice and gingerbread. The mushers who raise and train the dogs will share fascinating insights into husky welfare, training, and life on the farm, giving you plenty of time to pet and take photos with the dogs.

Board the transfer vehicle for a comfortable drive back to your pickup location or our city-center office, concluding your 4.5-hour Arctic adventure.
