Twin beds that work as a double, a sofa bed in the living area, and enough floor left over for wet mittens, boot dryers and a half-finished jigsaw. Nobody has to climb over anybody to get to the window.

The balcony is the quiet part of the day. Step out after dinner with a hot drink and let the garden go dark below you while the kids stay warm inside. Behind the glass the suite is bright and modern Nordic: a private bathroom, air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, fast free WiFi and a tea and coffee maker for the early risers. All of it in 41 square metres.

Everything is close. The Arctic Circle line and Santa Claus Village are minutes away on foot, reindeer and husky farms sit just beyond, and Rovaniemi Airport is a five-minute drive. Downstairs there is a full buffet breakfast, the restaurant, the bar and a reception desk that never closes.
