The Aurora Self-Drive Adventure lets you explore Lapland like a local, giving you the flexibility to chase the Northern Lights on your own schedule. This unique package includes a new 5-seat car, curated viewing locations, and all the tools you need to safely and successfully spot the Aurora Borealis.
With helpful tips for Arctic driving, night photography guidance, and a digital map featuring public campfire spots, you can experience the magic of the Arctic night fully prepared. Optional comfort add-ons, like firewood and winter clothing, ensure a warm and cozy adventure under the Northern Lights.
After booking, you’ll receive your digital map and detailed instructions by email. Pick up your car and included equipment at Rovaniemi Insider, Korkalonkatu 36, 96200 Rovaniemi.

We require a security deposit which will be pre-authorised (ring-fenced) on the main driver’s credit card at pick-up. A pre-authorisation holds funds but does not withdraw them; the amount will be released by the bank after the hold is removed. The time the funds remain unavailable depends on the card issuer and country (commonly 5–15 days but can be longer).

Important: Certain types of damage and costs are not covered by the standard excess and may be charged in addition. Examples include (this list is not exhaustive): damage to windows, mirrors, wheels, tyres, undercarriage, engine, clutch, the vehicle interior, lost keys, towing charges, flat battery, and loss of use. Third-party liability is included in our rates and is limited to €1,000,000 for property and bodily injury.
